There is a growing tendency of integration in the field of play therapy that therapists are selecting from various theories and techniques instead of one single approach to cater the needs of each unique client. Child-centered is one of the historically significant theories which have had a lasting impact and have stood the test of time. Having a strong foundation in child-centered play therapy can appreciate the child’s ability in self-actualization, and be able to develop a safe therapeutic space and relationship to help the child in self-expression.
